2012 Summer Camp Program
All classes - Threading the sewing machine, winding the bobbin, and machine parts will be covered. Proper pressing techniques will be taught and sewing machine safety will also be covered.
Camps are for children ages 7 to 18.
Camps are from 9am to noon or 1:00 to 4:00pm.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
No refund will be made on or after the first day of the session. If the student must cancel, 25% of camp fee will be retained.
Registration fees are not refundable.
All equipment is provided.
Class size is limited to 4 students.

Camp Collections One
Camp Fee $150, Registration Fee $40
Material Fee: $10 for fabric, waived if you supply your own.
During this week of camp you will learn the parts of the sewing machine, how to pin and cut, and how use the straight and zig zag stitch. Your first project will be a small bag. Then choose 2 out of the four following modules for the remainder of your week of camp:
Tie-It-Up: Big Foot Pillow & Tie Blanket;
On The Go: Pocket Pillow, Denim Purse and Pod Pouch;
Pack It Up: Back Pack, Pencil Case, and Reversible Head Band;
Deco Your Room: Four Squares Pillow, Heart Door Knob Hanger.

Camp Collections Two
Camp Fee $150, Registration Fee $40
Material Fee: $10 for fabric, waived if you supply your own.
You will continue with the skills that you learned the first week and be able to choose 2 out of the four following modules to work on:
The Safari: Gecko Pillow & Fun Bag;
Day at the Beach: Swim Wrap, Flip Flop Deco and Triangle Scarf;
Girls Night In: Placemat Tote, Cell Phone Bag, and T-Shirt Pillow;
Going Out: Patch Purse, Wallet and Square Door Knob Hanger.

Kids Can Sew
Camp Fee $150, Registration Fee $40
Children will learn how to take their measurements, read a pattern envelope and pattern instructions, follow pattern instructions and use sewing notions to help construct and finish their items. Girls will sew a drawstring bag, denim skirt and pants/shorts. Boys will sew a backpack, pants or shorts with a pocket and a shirt or nightshirt. They will learn how to insert elastic into a casing and how to hem.

Doll Camp
Camp Fee $150, Registration Fee $40
Children will make clothes for either an 18” doll (American doll) or 15”(Itty Bitty Baby). A kit fee is included in the Registration Fee. If you would prefer to use your own fabric, please consult with the instructor 2 weeks prior to class.

Sleepover Fun
Camp Fee $150, Registration Fee $16
Make a pair of pajama pants, eye mask, and carry-along pillowcase for those sleepovers. Add those design options of pockets, patches, ribbons, or nothing. You can even learn how to make patchy looking pajama pants. Have fun and explore your creative side.

Dress Up or Down

Make a dress to wear, casual or fancy. Students will be advised when registering about style and size.

Students will make a messenger bag or Slouchy Bag. If they have time, some of the industrious may be able to start and finish two.

Curl Up with a Quilt
Camp Fee $150, Registration Fee $16
Students will learn how to cut, sew exact seam allowances (1/4 inch), chain sewing, joining blocks, pressing, preparing fabrics for quilting, and how to select fabrics for quilting. We will discuss design and they will choose between a Brick Road lap quilt or a Four by Four quilt.

Recycle It

Make a jean skirt and jean purse from your recycled jeans. A great class to take just before school begins. You will have a one of a kind outfit for back to school.
